Writing & publishing

Repurpose videos, documents and social posts without losing meaning

Choose a source-led article angle, preserve evidence and remove repetition when moving existing material into a searchable written format.

The short answer

A webinar, report and social post each contain different amounts of evidence and context. Choose the written outcome after reviewing the source. A short opinion post should not become a factual research article simply because software can expand it.

Let the source set the boundaries

A webinar, report and social post each contain different amounts of evidence and context. Choose the written outcome after reviewing the source. A short opinion post should not become a factual research article simply because software can expand it.

Confirm you can reuse the material. Private documents, client reports and participant information need authorization. Remove sensitive details that the article does not require before processing or publishing the source.

Build a coherent answer

Use one central question and arrange supporting material around it. Content Merger combines sources into an article, but editorial review must resolve contradictions and identify where each claim came from. Do not blend conflicting figures into a new unsupported number.

Video to Article, Document to Article and Social to Article are included Editor modules. For video, check quotations against the recording. For documents, verify tables and notes. For social content, add evidence only when you have a reliable source.

Make repurposing useful, not duplicative

Readers should gain a format suited to their task: skimmable steps, clear explanations or an evidence-backed synthesis. Link to original material when it provides useful depth and is allowed to be public.

If the new page repeats an existing article without adding a different purpose, improve the existing article instead. Repurposing should extend accessibility and usefulness, not create a series of near-identical pages for search.

A practical workflow

  1. 1

Check source ownership, privacy and the intended audience.

  2. 2

Select a distinct written question and map supporting evidence.

  3. 3

Create the draft and review source attribution and contradictions.

  4. 4

Publish the useful adaptation with contextual links to original or related material.

A worked example

Combine an authorized webinar and public report into a guide about content refresh decisions. Use the webinar for practitioner context and the report for attributed evidence. Keep disagreements visible instead of presenting the sources as unanimous.

Illustrative example, not a customer result.

Before you publish

  • Source reuse is authorized.
  • Sensitive information is removed.
  • Each important claim remains traceable.
  • The article serves a distinct purpose.

Content Merger supports consolidation, but you must check attribution, contradictions and factual accuracy.

Should every social post become an article?

No. Expand only when there is enough useful substance for a distinct reader question.
